Maybe author wanted to portray 9/11reference but don't want to racist towards certain people so instead of doing that they decided to just throw a stereotypical hindu person with such an obvious name (if yk,yk) throw under the bus with such divine ,'our gods' bs . Author could have orchestrated this scene more differently without bs.
