I'm sorry but I can't sympathise. Regardless of the reason they still damaged their daughter for their own selfishness. This is like trying to make someone like Steve Jobs look sympathetic when reality he died alone because he negleticed his kids in pursuit of his own dreams.

@JForce right here with you on this. The author trying to depict the father as a wierd but kind guy, but he clearly doesnt care about his daughter as much as his wife. The Yaes kin at least did all they did for her as well, if not very subtle. These ones on the other hand might not be bad people, but deffinetly shouldnt've reproduced, cause they just dont care. Also, making smth good doesnt automatically make the maker a good person. A lot of famous writers in my countries history were drunkards, junkies, liars, cheaters and all-around assh****
