Jooin's mom and uncle had a relationship in the past (like when they are still teens) and the dad snatched mom and impregnated her thats why they got to be together and got married (they were happy at first jooin stated this in the earlier chapters) . The abuse started when the dad discovered that jooin and jooyul's ability is superior than his (which is the same to his brother) due to his inferiority complex towards towards his brother , he assumed that mom and uncle is still together and that the children is not his . Uncle said dad has the ability but not much , He can read just about 60% of the words just like jooyul . jooyul cant read all of the words while jooin can .
