She is both right and wrong, because the patriarch did let Iode alone wanting him to develop his passion by himself. But the mother in the other hand never gave her son more than burdens just because she wanted him to be the succesor no matter what. Both of them are in fault, but having in account the responsibilities of the patriarch, she has the most guilt of what happened to Iode's personality and bad decisions
