Kissing cheek is actually a common practice in some places.In Turkey we do it all the time when we meet with our friends,family and relatives. So there is not really much problem. You dont even kiss once you do it once for every cheek sometimes once more since people like doing thing three times here. The intensity and direction of a kiss will change according to your relationship.If you are not that close with someone you just touch your cheeks together and make kissing noise.If you are pretty close with someone you kiss pretty hard.
@noname same things applies in south america. but usually it applies to the elders such as grandparents,aunts uncles and family friends. if we dont know them at all then its just a simple handshake. though for the new gengration such as myself i dont really carry out this tradtion with my freinds since its idk a little werid since were closer in age but if a freind did this to me i dont question it but i can get that it is a little surprising if they dont practice this.
