I don't know why Vinny believe if I betrayed my friends for money I could save my mom. Bette they the course of his action he thought I would win all the time. He let his pride get to him. I know he had his reasons but that wasn't very bright. @Angeldelamuerte totally agree. He's to hung up on thinking people look down on him and can't take genuine help even though it's in his face. His pride is stopping him even though he clearly cares for his friends. He's a little bi*** rn for betraying them though. Like we all knew Vinny was getting that prize money either way. @Angeldelamuerte actually, I think he left the Hummingbirds because he felt that they weren't taking the matches seriously enough... because the stakes aren't as high for them. The rift started when Sangho Choi wanted to delay their match against... so forget if it was Monster or Ghost. The rest of the team were merely frustrated but felt like there was nothing to do about the delay, but that was the time Vinny's mom took a turn for the worst. So he felt that the team was just treating the tournament as a game whilst his mom's life hung in the balance. Then the sleazy pharmacist CEO guy tempted him with money in exchange for using his product. So he chose his mom over the team.
Not excusing his decision though... I still think it was a dumb decision. They should have just set up a gofundme for his mom or something. But it wasn't just pride that drove him away

@Apol15 nah I rember that was something he was contrasting the ghost team with humming bird. The reason he left ghost is because he realized they weren't taking it seriously after remembering his training with hummingbird
