A wise person in his situation would've sit down and explain everything to her as to why it's impossible at this time to have a relationship. He just has to wait for her to graduate and then they can easily be together. That's what an adult irl would do. Buuuut this is a shoujo romance manga, so yeah everything has to be overdramatic and unrealistic.
