It's more like ilay has no clue why he's so atrracted to Tae. Tae's not an incredible handsome man ( atleast for ilays beauty standards) and so he's totally confused. Plus he don't has an idea from the concept called love.... that are the troubles of a psycho.... 😅
That's atleast my understanding from the novel with it's flashbacks and so on.
