@Saturnian Empress  my time to shine! Alpha, omegas and betas are generally generally for different parts of a group. Alphas are the toughest and strongest. They are made to impregnate omegas and provide for their family. Omegas are meant to be impregnated by alphas and are the main caretaker for the babies. Betas are generally somewhere in the middle of those two but it honestly flexuates depending on what book your reading. For example in some book betas can have babies and impregnate omegas but in others they can't. Now for pheromones. Pheromones are a scent released by alphas and omegas. Alphas use it as a sign of dominance whether over omegas or other alphas. Omegas use their pheromones to seduce a alpha for a potential partner. Betas do not produce any pheromones and can not smell them and therefore have no effect from them being released. I agree with the other comments love is and illusion does somewhat go into depth about these roles but just a quick google search might do you one better considering that book has around 110 chapters.
