Oh, I don't know. Some people don't have that much malice in their hearts under certain circumstances... she's probably never been in that position of being someone's love interest and has always been surrounded by her brother and his friend. Just because she has someone she likes now, she's not going to stop seeing him as a brother. She's not going to suddenly think that someone who's like family will suddenly develop a romantic interest in her and put up barriers.
