The novel put more detail on what was the deal here. Former fiance family has a whole deal with trading routes So she basically was offering full monopoly on that. The problem here is that MC new town is going to takeover her whole business so it was completely worthless deal (he considered that option before). For what I remember we don't see that girl anymore, she fades away with her family after MC start the management of his territory. After this was is next is the invasion arc but I don't remember if they are the former nobles who don't agree with MC or some barbarians. Also current mc fiance is gonna start her own army
