the author is bold as frick to strip his hero of all his powers to almost start a new story entirely. Maybe he thought he had thrown around to many features, skills and scenarios to have a decent overview over everything and wanted a bit of a fresh start. Interesting and frustrating... like you read so long as if you played an rpg for so long just for your save to be corrupted
