He put his 'Beloved' on a pedestal, determined to cherish and worship him, without understanding how he feels. Ugh, these guys are two peas in a pod, and they don't even realize it! I'd go as far as to say that they are each other's 'first love'... And they have no idea how to balance their own want and need to 'keep the other safe while treasuring them', with, 'respecting the other's needs and wishes' to mutually protect them as well....
