Everyone, please.... How do I convince my parents that I want to study in a university in north India??? (I'm a girl, from south)
The recent incident is tragic and everyone is afraid..... me too, but because of this fear I'm gonna lose my oppurtunity to study there.
My score is 94.9% (I worked so hard for this, many sleepless nights and sacrifices) and I'm gonna get the branch I'm intrested in if i join there.....
Right now, There's this college which I didn't like and this course, which I'm not intrested in at all... Aaaaaaaaggghhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!! I'm in tears while writing this, all the hard work.... please!!!
I asked, they said no cuz it's really far from here... and then I asked, a guy studied there..... so what's the problem?
That's the first time I heard them say " You are a girl...... girls and boys are different!!! R u watching the news, do you know what's happening outside??? "
EVERY SINGLE WORD THEY SAID IS ABSOLUTELY TRUE...... I couldn't say anything back after hearing those words from them, how can i refute? When I myself am worried about my younger sister after reading about such news. Yes, girls and boys are different!!! It's not safe in this country for a girl to go outside alone like any other boy, If I were a boy there wouldn't have been a problem like this now... I just wish to study and get a job. be independent and support my parents, nothing more.... but because of this incident.... da**, what should I do??

@Abc my best suggestion would be that you look for a decent college elsewhere from the north. its an absolute shithole in there. I hope you'll be safe and achieve your dream. Like they say "jaan hai to jahaan hai". your parents might probably end up telling you to just give up on studying altogether if you push them further. btw, what are you aiming to study?

It's not in kolkata, It's near delhi... It is a decent college

@Abc I am not sure if this will work but , does the college you are interested in have built in hostel for girl and boys (separate)? If it does , then it solves half of the problem, then comes the travelling part , how will you reach that state? Then maybe try travel to that state with your parents, anyone will do , and travel together, and I hope that college have a good security, otherwise with all the cases your parents will not allow
And also try to make them beleive that you want to become this through that college and that college is really good choice for you , if it comes to security of yours then I really hope that , that college meets your parents security criteria

@Abc if you want i cam recommend you a college it's really safe there and the security is pretty tight and and i am not scamming you or just telling you based on what i see on internet my siblings are currently studying there my sister and brother to be precise and and i visited one or two times it is really and its teir A school and for computer science so after reading this you think that you want me to recommend then tell me i will tell you more things related to it

@Abc i did assume you were talking about delhi- its in the north isn't it?

am i misinformed? i thought south had better colleges when it came to technical subjects

@Abc I WARN YOU! DON'T COME TO NORTH!! IT'S ABSOLUTELY DANGEROUS FOR US NATIVES AND EVEN MORE DANGEROUS TO STUDENTS LIKE YOU WHO HAS NO ONE HERE!!!
South may also be not safe but in North, local politicians rule with absolute authority! If something happens to you, your parents won't even be able to see the culprit get punished.

@Raspberry Plum Da**.... All those boys can go study whereever they want!!! Why can't I??? Just because I'm a girl..... sh**, What is happening in this world?
I knew it's bad but not this worse.... I really wanna study there, is there no opther option?? I worked so hard for this....
