@TOFU   believe me, at first I was shocked, and I was undecided whether to abandon the novel, I decided to read anyway because I wanted to hope until the end that something would change and I discovered that it was just a dream of Grace. That was traumatic too. Not much changed but I read anyway, did you stop there?
