So, I had a theory. Don't know if someone wrote this already under another chapter:

I thought the MC never read a book about characters with the same names. That was just his mind dealing with the trauma. So all those terrible things actually happened to him, but he thinks they happened to another person. He actually has multiple personality disorder.
However, since he knows that his father is going to embezzle money in the future,I guess I was wrong. Too bad. I thought I was onto a great plot twist.
