I'm probably wrong but when or if shin finds out that Jake isn't who he says he is he'll be extremely hurt cause he thought they shared something together (being a lowlife)
Same reason why he cares so much for his brother (forgot his name) even though they've been separated for years he still cares for him cause they've been through the same horrible childhood same with Jake now there both lowlifes and he treasures that he's not alone now
