I don't understand his feelings, like the whole monologue/his perspective. He love her but want her to be as low as him ...? To make her suffer so they can be equally broken? For revenge for her father's sin? I can't quite catch up with his intention at all. So it's not love, but just his selfishness and greed? I don't think the back story help for literally any things ...

@Lonlie Ghost yeah it basically is selfishness from other people's/characters point of view, but specifically from his point of view he just pictured her to be this sweet, compassionate, sympathetic angel, and she was, but then at the same time due to her sheltered life she was also extremely ignorant of others around her. Honestly her social awareness is not all that great but it isn't her fault and she deserved so much better. He was brainwashed and hurt and so much happened to him that he just couldn't wrap his head around the fact that she wasn't as perfect and omniscent as he thought. He is just another broken, hurt guy with major ptsd who found out that his only hope trough all that didn't know about his situation. So yeah it's a combination between selfishness and trauma that both caused and were caused by mental disorders probably.
