Well I kinda understand the Queen, as I read in other stories before. The fact that the King brought his illegitimate child as a prince he has a right to compete with the throne which is always blo***. Even if Joffrey didn't want the throne he will be disposed as he is a legitimate child and has a higher legitimacy over the throne. I think she sees the throne as her son's survival. The Queen might have selfish motives but it's obvious that the throne should go to her son. Why would she endure a cheating husband and arrange marriage in a foreign land if at least her descendant would not benefit. Unlike in some Villian mother in another BL I think she genuinely love and cares for her son and not see him just a political tool.
@Your Majesty wait, but isn't joffrey not the king's son anyways? joffrey has no rights to the throne. if she cared, it would've been smarter for her to just fake his death and send him out. why make him fight a fight that he doesn't want and can't even legitimately fight in. once it's known that he's not the king's son, he's dead. he's acting up, dead.
or you telling me, im legit gonna be reading a story with incest? bcuz i don't believe this story has incest and i doubt the mother wouldn't know the questionable legitimacy of joffrey's lineage. also, wasn't it said in the beginning that she forced him to marry her, so the king couldn't marry the woman he loved? or maybe that's some other story... it's been too long since i read the beginning. but im pretty sure the king didn't even want to marry her.
like she cares for joffrey, sure, but not enough to actually do something about it.
