@Places to be if this is a simple love story then your sentiment would be spot on, too bad it isn't. Seth is the Prince of a dying nation who are being persecuted by the very King that Theo's clan had pledged their allegiance to. If he stays by Theo's side any longer, the chances of the Langeres reclaiming their land will dwindle. And Theo is not a mere soldier as well, he is the leader of Peserus. His action towards the orders of the King would reflect as a decision of his clan as a whole. The King had been already wary of him and all of Peserus because of the power and support they hold. Both of Theo and Seth can't just run off to the end of the rainbow and live happily ever after, well they can if they are willing to sacrifice innocent lives.
