Like that one character on Attack on Titan who disregarded the soldiers "dying" fighting for them and instead wanted the commander to stay in his place and keep him and his riches safe as he deemed them those soldiers worthless when that will all be gone anyway if the commander does not act and loses all his soldiers/subordinates in the end, then no one will be left to protect his "pride" and "ego"
You're probably only saying this because in this manhwa, becoming one definitely doesn't seem easy and have setbacks, but I bet if they were to find a way where you can indeed become one without any drawbacks/catch or the easy way without anything to lose and be given a fighting chance to survive as humans but not purely human anymore, most likely anyone would be willing, even you I'd say...
