She wonders whether Yvonne used the spirits of the Leyla to revive the dragon and, as if to confirm this statement, the mirror Yvonne was holding glowed a sinister blue. Callisto tells her there's no time and to just run first. She tells him they just need to break the mirror but he tells her that's not a good idea right now and it's better they get out of here first. His eyes widen as he notices something. She turned to check and there was fire in the mouth of the dragon. Penelope and Callisto ran screaming at the same time.
The fire burnt the entire palace and came at great speed. Penelope could feel the heat on her skin. She tries to think of any water or ice magic but even if any magic spells appeared on the wand it was too late to say them. The huge fire finally caught up with them and Callisto cried out to her pulling her into his armor. She screamed. But there was no pain and she felt no heat. She opened her eyes to see the flames had been split it two around them. She realizes it's the defensive magic from the rose than Vinter gave her. She remembers him telling her that in the case of emergency it would activate.
The trigger being her screaming. Penelope felt strange watching the flower. The flower that bloomed splendidly in her hands and withered immediately with purple petals. The love of the suspicious Vinter was also so.
I like to post spoilers for the stories I find interesting because I don't have much time to read novel due to busy schedule you will find me in most romantic historical manhwa comment sections
Penelope tells Callisto to open his eyes and he asks if they've made it to the other world. Penelope informs him that they're not dead yet. He asks what happened and she points to the rose. She tells him it's the defensive magic she mentioned earlier. She tells him it's a defensive magic from Vinter. Callisto is not impressed. She accepts this and the necklace, but ignores the gifts he gives her every time. As the flames cease, the rose disappears.
One side of the the ceiling collapses where the dragon breaks the pillar like wooden chopsticks. Penelope searches through the mess for Yvonne. Penelope sees Yvonne's head of pink hair through the black backdrop quickly passing through the cracks of the collapsed walls. Penelope tries to chase after her but Callisto holds her back warning her it's too dangerous as the palace is going to collapse from the dragon. The dragon then opens its winds and takes off; the barely standing building collapses. The prince yells for them to run. The doors to the Sun palace are thankfully still handing and, just as Penelope and Callisto pass through the door, a pillar falls behind them and the entrance is blocked. They look at each other panting; the hand that she's holding is sweaty. Callisto suddenly smiles at her and tells her he has very special experiences with her. She asks whether he doesn't like it but he tells her he doesn't know but life has definitely become fun. Only then did they catch their breath and the outside events became apparent. The battle between the army and the rebels were in full swing. The sight of the dragon made both sides freeze. Penelope looks around again for Yvonne. Callisto notices her walking calmly in the center of the battle holding a sword and mirror.
As they try to chase after her, the rebels notice him and tried to attack. Callisto pulls Penelope close and quickly disposes of them. Its not just the rebels who notice him as knight calls out and tries to approach. Just as he reaches them, he falls breathing blood. Eclise calls out master as he holds his blo*** sword. Callisto stops walking because of the man now blocking their path. He stares at her silently wiping the blood from his cheek with his handing holding the knife. His eyes are as empty as when she first met him at the slave auction. He tells her he ran like a crazy person the the Empress' palace. He was concerned she would be in danger because of the surprise attack so he was trying to get her out of that place. It's dangerous, so it would be best if she stayed in the palace. Is it so hard to believe him? His eyes drift downwards and he sees her holding Callisto's hand. He tells her if she stayed still he would have fixed everything an killed Yvonne and give it to the empire or the Duke but why is he holding her hand again. Callisto asks what he is talking about annoyed. Penelope points her wand at him telling him he thought there story was over when he ran out of her hands. She tells him its his last chance to and she doesn't have time to do this. He asks her whether she's with Callisto. Just then the dragon passes overhead wandering the sky as if it's looking for her. There's no time to dead with Eclise. She calls a spell and strikes Eclise with a thunderbolt. It will not kill him, like the Leyla followers before it would only knock them out.
She prays it knocked him out but she doesn't have the confidence to look back and check. She tries to guide Callisto away. A voice calls from behind telling her he told her. He will kill that b*stard and have her shell. Eclise was a strange figure with smoke coming from his body. She breathed in the creepy face as he charged with the knife. Callisto calls at her to stay back and meets Eclise word. Penelope thought she was the target, but Eclise was aiming for Callisto. Callisto calls back to her that he's dealing with all sorts of guys thanks to his popular lover. Callisto is busy defending and tells her to go ahead after the Leyla and he will follow after dealing with this guy. Penelope hesitates and nods. She has no choice now. Someone calls out to her. It's the Duke and she sees Reynold. As they try to run to her the dragon lands behind them. She can see the fire appearing in its mouth. She screams out to her father. She's just went through how powerful the dragon fire is. Her wand only tells her a simple attack spell and she no longer has the rose. She wonders whether the spell will work as the wind begins to mix into the fire over the Emperor's garden. She calls out a spell the ground vibrates. Thousands of blossoms from the gardens, grew into the sky.
