The crown prince had been riding on the premises that he's done so much for the country, when it was his fiancé making the plans and setting everything up and in motion for him to step in as if it were his hard work. The original oracle is a lie and the new Pope hates that the church had become so corrupt and evil. So he had to become like that to set everything right. He actually is a goid person who is protecting her from the shadows.
@BLHeadmistress knowing this makes me more angry indeed and Knowing the ml is good and trying to help in a way makes me like him even more and the prince still even had the nerve to even try asking her to continue to help him with the work still even after their marriage was cancelled- the audacity of him .
I also read a spoiler that the first oracle was made bcs the emperor was in love with fl's mother but she married the duke, so the emperor wanted her daughter and his son to marry instead.
