G** i really am beginning to go crazy, like i love these kind of stories, but this story just pulls stuff out of its behind all the time. She had money to buy a house and ingredients for her own pastries, where is she getting all of this from? Marshmallows? They have the technology for that? And chocolate means there are several logistical things that are in place, but it tries to convince me its set in a medieval/fantasy world. Like just the whole cooking bit, means that she had access to a modern oven and a timer, both of which require modern technology. Do you know how hard it is to cook pastries pre-modern time? When you couldnt tell precisely how hot an oven was? I know its gonna be explained off as "she has magic devices" if we get any explanation what so ever, but we have that and then people washing their clothes in basins etc. If you have the technology for ovens, you have the technology to most of the basal modern tech. Like you really need to turn off your head completely to enjoy this world, which really tries to make our FL stand out as isolated and ostracissed from her community, while she runs a BUISNESS where she have plenty of imported wares, and equipment to make extremely tough foods to make.

1) All you need to make Marshmallows is Suguar Syrup and either Geletin or Egg Whites. Then whip it, like you would for making Mayo. Then cutting the mixture into the desired shape. So the technology to make it is super easy af.
2) She had a lot of money as a Duke before she left the family. So that's enough to live as a commoner for several lifetimes if she sold off her jewlery.
3) Hot Cocoa was invented by the Mayans in 500 AD. Mideval England gained access to it in 1500 AD. So, they had the technology to make it.
4) Scones were developed in 1513 AD. So if they could make it then, they could make it in this setting.
5) So .. no. They could make all those things in a time before modern Washing Machines were invented. And just because it was hard doesn't mean impossible. Just going by what was show.
Ketchup 1812 (Transfered in England)
Scones 1513 AD
Hot Cocoa 1500 AD (tranfered over in England)
Coffee Houses 1500 AD
Bakeries and Bakery Guilds 168 BC
Stovetop Ovens 1834 AD
Commercial Glass Windows 1800s.
Nobility went extinct (technically) for most of the world around 1870 (France) - 1964 (Most of the rest of the world seeing the end of the Aristocracy)
So ... that puts this place in the early 1800s.
Definitely do able. And just because something is difficult, doesn't mean it's not doable.
