Totally normal. as someone who went through hard times and finally breakup with his fiance, I can tell you once you taste "betrayal", it's hard to trust. But she even gave him motives to mistrust, since she herself was doubting him. Is like a vicious cycle.
They said in the beginning, each of those girls had their own baggage, that was a nice foreshadowing.
