I think MC sees him more as an escape route, for her it's a way to reach her goal (survive) I know she's lost and desperate
it's for her she relies on him but the problem is that he becomes more and more suspicious like for a moment he is sweet and obedient and then suddenly he starts to have Yandere tendencies... 
Personally, even if I like her, I don't like her to the point of wanting them together. On the other hand with the prince no worries at first I did not like him but over time I realized he has much more in common with MC (many ennemi, not enough love when they where child, feal alone, always accuse of being the bad guy...).
Watch them act together and tell me she's not relaxed.
They have trust issue but they dare to talk and be vulnerable.
