In the book the MC read, he died because he could no longer feel anything and therefore couldn't use his emotion sword technique.
Without feelings, he also has no desire for marriage, intimacy, and so on. His people got excited that he married her because they didn't think he'd marry anyone, since he feels nothing. With him being married, he's more likely to have an heir and possibly feel emotion again.

Men can get them when thinking of the person they romantically love, but it's not specifically emotional. The ML should be able to get one with some physical stimulation.
