@Khirud no, quite a bit ago they showed a scene where his father had a bible (?) (or a book with a cross, I don't remember well) while watching over his mother resting on a bad, probably hinting that she was I'll/comatose/not well
If I'm not mistaken (but I probably am) that was at the end of a chapter after a conversation between the brother and sister about something remotely related to supernatural or some sh** like that
Now, seeing as to how both kids have prominent canines, and so does the mother, and there is already ninja arts/hypnotism in this universe, I'm assuming she's a vampire
