Jingi killed people, yes, in defense because they were out to kill him. And why did they try to kill him? Very likely because he was a victim of sexual violence from his uncle while he was a minor and could make it public.
I do not recall Heonjae being sexually abused by the coach but more like not being peoperly supported as an athlete but this still isnt reason enough to cut off someones legs. Normally y'now? He had a crush on his teacher and reacted extremely violent because of this.
Heonjae is obviously mentally impaired and shows certain signs of psychopathology. Meanwhile Jingi became a previously victimized predator. Both have huge flaws, Jingi is less dangerous for Myeonggi tho and has in my very personal opinion more chances for redemption as he still is more caring and less mentally impaired.
