So, I do think Yanai appreciates how Maki is rly carring, like he said, he would throw his life away to protect Maki and it's like his first relationship (i think for both if them I don't remember) and for some ppl, that constantly calling from your partner could get annoying if ur only leaving for a couple days and are not planning on leaving them. He later says, that he knows that he overdid it and tried to say sorry and on the other hand he makes maki clear, that he would never leave him after he heard the details of his backstory (makis backstory: scared of ppl leaving him, ect.). I think ur overreacting a bit and from my perspective, how yanai acted wouldn't be smth to hate on (his words were harsh but like he reflects on himself).
I love that story (we could talk bout the kidnapping) and they make a great couple where both help each other try to get over their anxieties <3
