@Vibha i think so too! I get her words as "I was glad you scaped this he**, but ended bringing yourself back, so disapointing" or something like that.. I've read the novel but it was so long ago I can't remember if she's ever sisterly towards Maxi to back the claim :'D

@Vibha it's for haters. The older sister is also traumarised. You guys only see the one who's crying. But just look at the way she thinks. Why did she came to that opinion. Just how do you think she grew up to be a heartless person. She is cold, perfect princess, and the way she think. I think she is the same as maxi. Just happened to be born more pretty so she has to play the perfect child for her father. Maxi never left the castle but the sister did. I think sister knows more than maxi. She've seen more than maxi.

@Maku Rosetta was indeed abused, psychologically and emotionally.

Psychologically, her father abused Max in front of Rosetta so that Rosetta does not behave like Max and he deprived Rosetta of sibling-relationship between the girls. Rosetta had to close off her emotions just to survive her sister's abuse.

Emotionally, did you not read what she said about love? Would you think someone who was loved by her father would have such a cynical take on love? "Do you think that someone loves you just because they were nice to you?" Her father was like that to her. He gave her money, let her go out and make friends, treats her relatively well as she is to become the crown princess. But it was all for HIS benefit. Not Rosetta's. His. Rosetta knows that her father doesn't love her simply because he gave her more privileges than Max. He is using her, the same way he used Max to make Riftan fight his battles with the Dracians.

Please be advised that abused doesn't have to be physical for it to be abuse. It can be financial, emotional, psychological and even, spiritual.
