I believe Alex imprinted on Nathan back when they were in school that's why he threw up when trying to have s** with Ilay that's a pheromone rejection he experienced and the minute he sees Nathan again it triggered his rut and now it's lasting longer than usual.

@Soyynay how does imprint work in omegaverse? I thought it usually means biting your mate.
@Nathan Fox Imprinting is like a one sided love that super strong and is basically forceful and doesn't need consent. Which then starts the process of soulmate even if they are not fate mates sometimes you'll see this also on stories where it's alpha and beta and then the beta changes to omega because they are constantly being showered with pheromones. And it's usually more common to see in stories where the Alphas are dominant because they have stronger traits. I suck at explaining so maybe someone else can correct me if I am wrong.
