She opened the bottle was trembling hands and swallowed the potion. Breathing became easier and her pulse began to settle. A strange noise rang in her ears. She looks to see the dragon in front of her and a familiar back. She sees the sword lodged between the dragon's muzzle.She breathed out Eclise's name. The ice was shard was obscured by the dragons feet. She could see the blood trickling down at his feet. With the dragon's claw piercing his chest, he turned to look at her, barely blocking the muzzle with his sword, and asked if she was hurt. She asked him why. A rush of blood came from her mouth. She didn't understand so she had no choice but to ask. Why was he trying to protect her after she tried to kill him. He laughed faintly as if he understood. He told her she called it violence. He called it love. The knife he has in the muzzle will break soon. He continues, ever since she gave him this sword..he gags as more blood flows from his mouth. Penelope begs him not to tell her but he continues. All the moments she smiled like a flower and said he would be the only one to protect her. What he wanted from the beginning wasn't a title or freedom. He thinks it was her. He looked at her with a hollow look. I love you Penelope.
I like to post spoilers for the stories I find interesting because I don't have much time to read novel due to busy schedule you will find me in most romantic historical manhwa comment sections

@Introvert  Then
Spoiler!
The sword in the dragon's mouth breaks. The dragon shook his foot knowing it missed her and Eclise's body flew through the air. She shouts for him and tries to grab him hem but Callisto pulls her back into a hug. The dragon tramples were she just stood. When it lifts it's foot again, Eclise's body is gone.

Penelope's head is a mess. Why did Eclise do this and did Yvonne who thought he was on her side see this. The potion had restored her strength but her head was spinning. She was reminded numerous times that this was reality, but all the situations seemed unfamiliar. She was struck by belated fear. The dragon roared again. What was certain was the situation wasn't going to end until the dragon and Yvonne was killed. As she tries to shout a spell and hand covers her mouth. He tells her he doesn't think it will be useful right now. The dragon then charges at them again. Callisto puts her on his shoulder and runs, picking up a sword along the way. He cuts down an enemy and steps on them until the reach the bottom of the spire. He puts her down and her gaze turns to the dragon shooting fireballs. She can hear the sound of people screaming in agony and her breath becomes rougher.

Callisto tells her he's scared too. She asks whether he should be encouraging courage right now. He knew there was something was buried underneath the palace but why wouldn't he be scared. He was serious. His eyes looked like a man who was fed up with this. She tells him she doesn't know if she can beat Yvonne. Even if she wins, there is no guarantee the dragon would die either. She wonders what will happen if she breaks the mirror and kills Yvonne but the dragon doesn't die. Vinter didn't tell them this. Callisto pinches both her cheeks as punishment and tells her to focus on why she's doing this and not useful thoughts. She wonders why she is doing this and remembers. And
Spoiler!
She knows he's right but she can't get rid over the afterimage of Eclise bleeding. He laughs and tell her he still has this and points to the earring she had given him. Her heart surprisingly calmed down. She tells him she's going and he tells her to take care of herself. Callisto left first and as she turns to look she sees him hanging from the dragon's claw avoiding fireballs. Penelope climbs the endless stairs of the spire. She climbed and climbed and from outside a window she could see Callisto swinging dangerously on the dragon as it tries to shake him the man riding on back. She tried to stare only at the stairs as she climbed. A claw and tail had hit the wall of the spire earlier breaking the outer wall as she climbed. The ending is in sight as she enters the room of the guard post. Yvonne is sat at the window looking outwards with an awkward. She turns as she sees Penelope enter. Penelope asks if she's done playing hide and seek. Yvonne tells her if she's talking about rat race, then it's still ongoing. Yvonne smiled and jumps down from the window. She tells Penelope that she's made it here without dying. She thought she'd run away like before. Penelope asked why she killed Eclise. Yvonne looked surprised and laughed. She tells her it was Penelope who killed him not her. Because of her he died in the dragon's claw. Yvonne wipes away a tear. Penelope tells her she was the one who was controlling the dragon, so why didn't she stop. Yvonne asked her why she didn't love him and made him jump into its limbs like a moth.
