Why? You can't decide your birth family or place but after certain age you can choose your path according to your mindset.
She could've become a Great Empress, loyal to her subjects, her works, treat both princes equally, I am not saying to give unconditional love to her step son but remain open minded about his existence because his birth is not his fault, not tried to scam brown family.....etc etc
