@Nitteryah A random mage destroyed his village and crippled him as a child and igniting a passion for magic in him. A neighboring village adopted him as the sole survivor, not wanting to be a burden and intrude on those villagers he secluded himself into a forest cabin in order to research magic and improve the villager's lives. Over the years his notes and inventions he made for the villagers have turned him into something of a patron saint of Sorcery by misreading his name and treating his study materials as gospel. 2000 years later he emerged from the forest under the belief that it's only been a few years but he really has studied magic for 2000 years.
