My guess is he doesnt remember yet or this is a different person

So in the first world it was mentioned that that one amazing mind-reading "actor" lost his marbles and his consciousness shattered into pieces, so I think that's why he never remembers anything outside these specific worlds, because they're just pieces of him. 

Those are just speculations so far though, gotta read more to be sure
