@The Romantic That makes him no different from the Demigd he hates so much. Just watching humans suffer and letting their potential go to waste. The Demigod hasn't been shown to do anything worse than that. It imprisoned mc for being too op, but didn't actively slaughter, maim, oppress, or otherwise harm anyone as far as the story has explained...
