If yall are lost, here are the names with a few explanations
Nie Mingjue is Nie Huaisang's (WWX's friends during the Lan sect tutoring at) older brother and the former Nie Sect Leader. He died from a Qi Deviation a year or so after WWX died.
Jin Guangyao, also named Meng Yao, is Jin Zixuan's half brother. His father, Jin Guangshan, is the form Jin Sect Leader. He was sword brother with Nie Mingjue and Lan Xichen, Lan Wangji's older brother.
Jin Zixuan's is Jiang Yanli's fiancé and the former Jin Sect Heir. He passed but you'll learn why later.
Also mentioned is Banshan Sanren. She's an immortal and she regularly get disciples and train them on her mountain. She offers them a choice at the end of their training : stay here or leave the mountain to explore but never come back.
She trained Cangse Sanren, WWX's mother.
She also trained Xiao Xingchen, WWX's Martial uncle.
Xiao Xingchen is friend with Song Lan and together they captured Xue Yang, or Xue Chengmei. He's a criminal who whipped out an entire sect, you'll learn why later.
He was supposed to be executed but the Jin sect took him in and "locked him up".
Chang Ping was the only survivor of the Chang sect massacre made by Xue Yang, he was supposed to testify against him but I guess he was scared. He retracted it and the later died by Lingshi.
