Why does lobardi grandfather not want the emperor to have iron so much? I thought it was because it will affect his business but now he's spending money at a loss to stop it instead.

@glitter it's not really to stop his buisess but instead to show dominance. It's kinda showing that you don't get to walk away unscathed by threatening Lombardi and that even though he is the emperor Lombardi is still not someone u mess with. It's a power move more than anything.
