That dragon is a moron. I don't think she has anything to learn from it. That's basically like saying I don't like the pain of growth spurt so I'm going to forcibly suppress them. At the end of the day it's going to happen.

I think it was less the pain, and more the loss of control. The dude basically said that the dragon hated its more violent instincts having control over it during the Spurts, so suppressed them. Which is kind of understandable. Losing control, losing *agency*, can be something that makes anyone uncomfortable.
Was suppressing its own growth for several years till the point it hit all at once and went berserk smart?
No.
But it is understandable, because no one likes to feel like they are not in control of themselves.
Well ok, some people do.
But we don't talk about them in polite company.
@GreenDude I agree with Kaleb's reply, but I'd like to add onto it a bit. This Dragon is taking the Paarthurnax(Skyrim) approach atleast when it comes to its growth spurts.
