Spoiler!
The nobles are attending a meeting before the goddess Naila’s birthday celebration. Duke Seymour is very proud and happy because all of his children are becoming successful. His eldest son is a famous war hero, his daughter Deborah helped create a magical massage chair, and another son may become a very powerful mage at a young age. The other nobles flatter him and praise his family, making him even more proud.
Duke Montes becomes jealous while listening to everyone praise Duke Seymour. His own son, Pilav, has disappointed him many times, so hearing about Seymour’s successful children makes him angry and embarrassed. When the nobles mention Deborah’s invention and how caring she is toward her father, Duke Montes begins to think differently about her. Earlier, Duke Montes did not want his son to marry Deborah because she had a bad reputation and seemed troublesome. But now Deborah looks much more attractive as a marriage partner because she is talented, successful, and devoted to her family. Duke Montes believes that a daughter who treats her father kindly would also treat her future husband’s family well.
After returning home, Duke Montes suddenly tells Pilav that it is time for him to get engaged. Pilav is surprised because his father usually only scolds him. Pilav reminds him that he once promised to respect his wishes about marriage. Duke Montes then asks whether Pilav still wants to marry Mia Binoche. Pilav says he has already ended things with her because he realized she was only interested in powerful and useful connections.

I like to post spoilers for the stories I find interesting because I don't have much time to read novel due to busy schedule you will find me in most romantic historical manhwa comment sections

@Introvert So
Spoiler!
Duke Montes then suggests Deborah Seymour as a possible wife. Pilav is shocked because their family had previously ignored the Seymour family’s marriage proposal. Duke Montes explains that they never officially refused the offer because rejecting such an important house directly would be risky. Now he plans to personally send a reply accepting the proposal.
Later, the story shifts to the crown prince spending time with Pilav and Isidor. The three young men have known each other for many years. During an archery meeting, the crown prince talks about the upcoming birthday celebration and worries about political tensions in the kingdom. Isidor is calm, skilled, and intelligent. He is excellent at almost everything except playing the piano. Pilav, however, is angry and emotional. After the meeting ends, Pilav blocks Isidor’s path and accuses him of being fake and manipulative. Pilav is especially jealous because Deborah seems to pay more attention to Isidor. He mocks Isidor by saying Deborah only notices him because of his handsome face. However, Isidor secretly thinks that his looks have never helped him with Deborah at all.
