I like her and the manhwa and I understand where she's coming from, but her selfishness is sometimes really annoying. I have my hopes up for good character development.

Nah bro, when you are responsible for kids that aren't your own you unconsciously take it into account without even wanting to, especially if you are a person who worries about everything.
exactly being responsible for someone else's kids means you are just as caution or even moreso so that you don't get blamed if anything bad happens
I meant that more in general and not she has to babysit other kids but ok 
Taking care of kids is no jokes already but when they're someone else's, you just get hold twice responsible/guilty (once for the harm to the kid, twice coz you're showinf to be not up to your "reputability"/"responsability"/"adulthood" -- yes, you always await more from an adult than a kid, or at least you normally do).
I mean... she never really claimed to be a good person? She's clawing her way through a game where everyone she's supposed to kiss kiss fall in love with is liable to kill her and it's a rofan world with all the bullshit trappings. Yeah, the fact that she's not concerned about the kids does imply that she's not as kind or giving as regular mode MC, but she was never really trying to present herself that way? Idk the fact that she's focused almost solely on survival is kind of sad to me— she can't afford to care too much about other people..
