Guyzz you can dislike my comment as much you want, but one thing I don't like about here is ( hating Derick) I know he's a stubborn basta** but still he was like a good bro to Penelope, he talked to her politely in the mid of this comic he also actually prepared the gift for her ( that pink bird ). He's just not expressing his emotions outside ....
@Aurora charles he wasn't really a good brother, a good person yes but not a good brother. He was more concerned with the family's societal image than Penelope
@Aurora charles Gurll he was never a good brother, he only started acting nice after penelope changed (but where was he when she was struggling? Her own family members that adopted her didn't even cared) and whats worse towards him is that no matter how much she changed she always will see her as her past and not the present. Out of all the family members hes probably the worse one cause he never apologise even after the main story ended in the novel (so yes he's the worse peice of $h!t existence and he deserves hate because he didn't develop any character development till the end, which im glad cause i can justify my hate for him)

before there was no brainwashing . stilll he treated Penolpe badly. saying it is for the family and mistreating penolpe is not acceptable at all . Furthermore, unlike the 2nd brother, he never even apologized
the cage bird part is the worst one though. he gifted it symbolizing wanting to trap penolpe like that bird so you can't just say he was under mind control and excuse him
