@Kassandra father emperor is still the same. Only behaves when his empress is around. Still misbehaving see how he rules? Give people no choice and force his own son to marry. Making his son walk the same path as he did. Also obviously didn't let Yu'er to discipline their son properly. So he only took emperor's bad habits and mindset.
