@Blow Jabba dahut There's no reason for there not to be magic birth control. It would likely have a 100% prevention rate, too, since magic generally either works or doesn't work.

There's two kinds that could work, depending on the magic system: Temporarily block fertility, or block the fallopian and vas deferens tubes so the sperm and eggs can't meet.

And then there's getting into potions.

Like I'm pretty sure they don't teach any of those in the academy.

And I doubt they know about the ovary, and fallopian, and the vas difference tubes

@Dorn koul It really depends on how much research the mages in question have done. Including both observations of animals, and dissections of human and animal.

A couple scientists in the 18th century put little pants on male frogs to study fertility. They observed that frogs in pants didn't produce fertilized eggs. But when the scientists took the liquid that had been released onto the frogs' pants and mixed it with unfertilized eggs, the eggs became fertilized.

Mages, alchemists, and other researchers in these works are capable of doing that -probably especially because the whole idea seems bonkers.
