The more I read, the more confused I am about her age. I thought I understood it, but I made too many assumptions and now I'm completely confused.
One source of information stated that she would become and adult at 19, suggested to me that the story was in Korean years.
We know that she was 9 when she married, experienced 19 springs, and it has been currently 9 years since she was married.
Which leads me to believe the story is in international years?
19 springs is either, 18 international or 19 korean if her birthday is sometime before spring. However, the 9 years stated would change to 10, if this was the case.
Though, I suppose nothing has explicitly said that she is 19 within the story. Her birthday could be later in the spring. I suppose it has to be, otherwise I can't make sense of it at all.
The alternative theory would just further reinforce the fantasy element of this world, where it's set in international years and adults are still considered 19. Though, I thought it was meant as more of a historical piece (which would put it closer to 14). It's all very confusing.
