@alex pangilinan Yes, MC is being a jerk. He wants to have his cake and eat it, too. By that I mean he's stringing along something like a dozen women - giving them the impression that he could become their husband if they play their cards right - without ever committing to anything or anyone. Rather, his list of partners and prospective partners just keeps increasing more and more.
Mostly, I feel sorry for Cecily right now for that one-two punch. First, she got assailed by Sierra out of the blue - physically and by the revelation that MC got assaulted by Janice due to her negligence. Then her marriage proposal - her way of redeeming herself - got rejected in that clumsy manner.
If MC is just not the type to marry, then fine. But he should've made that clear to partners from the start. I can't imagine that this situation - with so many women circling him like this - is healthy for either MC or them.
@xpace but he did make it clear he wants no single woman in his life and shuts down the ones he doesn't like he is constantly being hit one not the other way around plus MC is just a perv by our standards in this new world MC seems to just be the norm for these girls seeing as no one cares if he sees them naked sure its not rainbows and peaches but everyone has something weird that makes someone else go that's wrong/strange
@alex pangilinan he hasn't been playing with feelings intentionally though he has been pretty respectful about laws of this world like him exposing skin and stuff and when he did he was drunk I can't blame him for that also,I could guess what word you meant by "sc***"
@Destroyer2point_1 I'd agree with that MC is not intentionally playing with the feelings of others. But being an 'accidental jerk' is a thing that happens.
MC seems to lack awareness of the feelings of these girls and how his words and actions can (and does) hurt them. I think MC is so self-centered that he doesn't put himself in their shoes or think on how they'd react to what he says and does. (And, once again, I'll remind readers how it was only recently that MC made it clear how he's not the marrying type and has no plan to ever marry.)
MC should consider a hypothetical where he's just 1 of a dozen guys trapped on a island with 1 cute/gorgeous girl who signals interest in all of them... and she sleeps with most of them, stringing them along, taking advantage of their kindness, treating him and the other guys just like he's been treating the girls of this island.
Anyway, I'm finding it more and more difficult to find the humor in this story the more this goes on.
@xpace Ah okay I see your point you're right about the lack of awareness part MC definitely couldn't figure out the girls unless they told him explicitly what they wanted (unless they assaulted him) MC isn't stringing the whole island along just the ones he prefers and to you're hypothetical sure it's bad to sleep around and not everyone is going to get a piece of that cake but that's the way the cookie crumbles Monogamy is cool but some people like to sleep around MC going for specific ladies and skinny dipping in each hole is pure lu** it's like this you are in a donut shop with all the donuts you could buy some donuts that taste good and others don't but you also get full of donuts and need a break now and then both MC and that girl are just tasting flavor while not moral or the best way to handle the situation I see why he acts the way he does there too many options plus the girls could hold back they don't need to lu** after MC those that choose to yeah the humor is subjective I think reading this wouldn't be for those who take relationships seriously/dating as they feel a sense of responsibility but most single people/virgins would enjoy a nice What I Could Have as Many Women as I Wanted book just the usual sexual fantasy
