Correct me if I'm wrong. Maybe I misinterpreted it somewhere. But didn't they say that intelligent beings arrived when the 2nd floor opened, which happened after the defeat of the Ice Queen. The mc had no idea about intelligent beings, with the exception of the Ice Queen being the only one who knew that could talk. He needed a full explanation, and was confused when he learned they could even traverse floors. While he was frozen for those 25yrs, everything changed, and new floors opened up. So... how on earth does he have so much information about Elves when he didn't even know they existed until a couple chapters ago? He knows everything about them, probably have info on the other races as well, even saying that he could never defeat a Elven Knight in battle... bruh how do you even know. There's so many plot holes or maybe I'm missed a chapter and am over thinking things. Like why is everyone so cocky when they can't even clear Gates on the first floor. Shadow Brothers tried to kill him moments before entering a Gate, that no one could clear in 7-9years, where's the logic because by the story setting, no one on the first floor can even clear their Gates until he woke up...... my head hurts.

He knows about dark elves. Which he faced in the past. And are mindless. He also probably faced knights, and knows that he is better than them at swordplay. The thing about not being able to fight with spirits contractors can be an inference. Or simply put, it's unclear if the normal elves became intelligent on the second floor, but maybe existed as unintelligent beings on the gates of the first. He could also have faced them there.
The brothers were just very, very stupid. And the guy who killed the Indian guy thought that the waves ended. And died for it.
He had a skill that can see through the memories of the dead and as for the brothers they intend to kill him as soon as they enter because it is the best time to do it. It was explained in the chapter, and the shadow brothers was ordered to kill him and they didn't know that he and (specter/spectre) is the same.
He is a smart character, he seem to retain information really well so since he likes reading and also have access in other people's memories because of a skill. He probably have just concluded that with his skill in the past he wouldn't have won as an educational guess. I mean he's alive now so he couldn't have lost in the past cuz that would mean his death.
as for the brothers, they are cocky, they probably thought that if a rookie has been clearing 'unclearable' gates then that means they could easily do tha with their fiend powers.
