@Zenaida To train your replacement you need to make sure they're worthy, even if they don't want to, eh?
@Zenaida Its basically how irl is. Your higher officials at work will drag you around to do stuff you don't wanna do in the name of training you to be their replacement once they get promoted or leave the company. You don't really have much say so in the matter depending on the level of the job.
@Zenaida Normally I'd agree. Hero in this story has a lot of awareness so far though. A lot of people have died covering the noble's duty. He did not "drag" MC into this, he baited him with the ring. MC voluntarily entered to get that ring, which is different from being forced.
Most likely, the front needs more strength or a lot more people will die, and the hero is acting accordingly.

@Zenaida He can have a good reason: Aren is so powerful that the local kingdom could want to monopolize him.
