I think i understand why:
JOO DOSENT BELIEVE HOW HE FELL FOR DAN
You know his situation, how he saw his mother leaving his abusive Dad. He initially believed something like love can never be in dictionary, but got confused with his feelings for Dan. To avoid such feelings grow and ultimately making Joo as miserable as his Dad, he started acting rashly with Dan.
HE WAS PRETTY ROUGH ON DAN WHEN HE PICKED UP DRINKING TO COPE WITH DEPRESSION
Dan is the only person he actually cared for in his subconscious, and he didn't want Dan to end up like his (Joo's) father.
WHY JAEKYUNG IS COLD TO EVERYONE
Jakekyung built himself and his career from a ground level, determined and hardworking from his very childhood. Self-reliant people' like him are often hard at heart, subconsciously finding it difficult to rely or mix with people' normally, often despising those who slack or act like $hItheads.
